About this Webinar

Orthodontic success begins long before braces or aligners are considered. Early evaluation of growth and development, oral habits, airway health, sleep quality, and caries risk helps clinicians identify concerns before they become more significant treatment challenges.

Through preventive, interdisciplinary care, pediatric dentists and orthodontists can work together to support healthy craniofacial development and improve long-term outcomes.

In this webinar, Dr. Carter will present case-based examples illustrating the value of early screenings, habit intervention, airway evaluation, CBCT imaging, and coordinated care.

Attendees will learn practical strategies for early diagnosis, treatment planning, caries prevention, and interdisciplinary collaboration to support healthier, more predictable orthodontic outcomes.

Learning Objectives

After completing this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize early indicators of developing malocclusions, oral habits, and growth-related concerns that may affect future orthodontic treatment.
  2. Assess the relationship between airway health, sleep-disordered breathing, and craniofacial development in pediatric patients.
  3. Implement habit intervention strategies to minimize the impact of non-nutritive habits on developing dentition and skeletal growth.
  4. Utilize CBCT imaging and comprehensive examinations to support early detection and treatment planning.
  5. Develop preventive protocols to reduce caries risk, demineralization, and white spot lesions during growth and orthodontic treatment.
  6. Enhance interdisciplinary collaboration among pediatric dentists, orthodontists, and other healthcare providers to improve patient outcomes and treatment efficiency.
