This webinar is an introduction to various applications of Photo-Bio-Modulation (PBM) in clinical dental practice. From a brief history of lasers, discovery of their healing non-thermal effects, to definitions of basic concepts like dose and target tissue, to understanding the priority principles making clinical integration easy, this webinar is an essential first step in becoming a laser dentist.

Many clinical applications will be covered including management of cold sores and canker sores, dry socket, xerostomia, TMJD, oral mucositis, gag reflex and more.

About the Presenter

Dr. Marina Polonsky, DDS, MSc graduated from the University of Toronto, Canada in 1999, with the Dean’s Gold Medal of Achievement, and has since maintained a private general practice in Ottawa, Canada, with focus on multi-disciplinary treatment utilizing lasers of different wavelengths. She holds a Mastership with WCLI (World Clinical Laser Institute) and a Master of Science in Lasers in Dentistry degree from RWTH University in Aachen, Germany, and is a recipient of the Advanced Proficiency Certificate and Mastership Certificate with the ALD (Academy of Laser Dentistry).

Dr. Polonsky is the founder of the Canadian Dental Laser Institute (CDLI), teaches laser safety and Diode and Erbium certification courses, and lectures worldwide on laser-assisted dentistry. She serves on the editorial advisory boards for JLAD and LIDS, and since 2017 has been the Chief Editor of the Laser Dentistry issue of the Oral Health Journal.
