This case report article discusses clinical and design factors that are responsible for the clinical success of implant-supported overdentures.

Learning Objectives: After reading this article, the individual will (1) understand the importance of support, lack of stability, and/or retention for the long-term success of a mandibular overdenture; (2) be able to identify and describe the 2 types of implant-assisted removable prostheses; and (3) learn the 4 factors that affect the retention of a prosthesis.
